SAR CHAPTER HOSTS DR ADAM HODGE, KANSAS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
On Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Leavenworth Heritage Center, the Henry Leavenworth Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) will host Adam Hodge, PhD, who will present, Kansas 1776: A Dynamic Landscape. Dr Hodge is the Head of Reference at the Kansas Historical Society in Topeka. He has a Ph.D in History with specialty in environmental and Indigenous history of the North American West. This presentation will explore the cultural and environmental landscape in Kansas at the time of the revolution and how a changing climate, Indigenous burning practices, waterways, and other developments shaped and reshaped what later became the state of Kansas.
This presentation takes place during the SAR Chapter’s April dinner meeting. It is open to the public, but those interested in attending must RSVP. Submit RSVPs by email to: HLSAR1776@gmail.com no later than Monday, April 20, 2026. The optional dinner, which costs $25, is payable at the door and will be served prior to the presentation.
Attendees must RSVP and indicate if they will purchase a dinner or simply attend for the lecture. Dinner will be served at 6pm. The lecture will follow dinner at approximately 6:40 pm. Only those who RSVP will be allowed to enter.
